Information about Monforte d'Alba
Monforte d'Alba is a small, picturesque village in the Barolo area. With its medieval old town, it is one of the most beautiful villages of Italy. In the piazza you can enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine in one of the bars, in the amphitheatre and you can listen to famous jazz stars during the jazz festival in summer.
Winegrowing shapes the landscape and life. You can enjoy Piedmontese cuisine in many different restaurant. Everything you need can be found locally - a pharmacy, an ATM, two small supermarkets, a baker and the Gastronomia (a delicatessen). On Monday there is a small market, on Tuesday there is a market day in Dogliani and on Saturday there is a big market in Alba.

The bar serves different types of ice cream in summer (Piazza XX Settembre 9).It is also recommended to take a stroll through the city and explore the picturesque alleys. Also worth seeing is the local church "Madonna della Neve". At the highest point of Monforte there is a small amphitheatre called "Auditorium Horowitz", where jazz concerts are held in summer. From there you also have a wonderful view over the city and the vineyards of the region.
